When Jen Ziesemer joined Midi Health as Employee Experience Manager, she was tasked with onboarding a rapidly growing and diverse workforce. Midi, a virtual care clinic supporting women navigating menopause and perimenopause, was hiring clinicians across the U.S. at a rapid pace — sometimes onboarding up to 15 new hires per week. That meant welcoming nurse practitioners, physicians, RNs, MAs, and HQ team members in roles like marketing, finance, and partnerships.


But the onboarding process was overwhelmingly manual. “When I started, we didn’t have an onboarding platform at all,” Jen said. “It was emails, spreadsheets, and a lot of time spent just trying to stay organized.” As hiring scaled, Midi experimented with platforms like Greenhouse Onboarding and later Checkr Onboarding, but neither tool could keep up with the complexity of clinician onboarding or the volume of new hires.


Manual emails, a lack of task visibility, and difficulty pushing updates to existing onboarding cohorts caused major inefficiencies and created a stressful experience for both the onboarding team and new hires. “We weren’t presenting ourselves the way we wanted to,” Jen explained. “It felt chaotic, disconnected, and unorganized.”
